The Zonda wheelset from Campagnolo is one of the bestsellers in the company's wheel range. Even though it won't be seen on the final stage of the Tour, the Zonda C17 wheelset is still a winner. This is mainly due to its well-known reliability, which does not come at the expense of performance. Also for this reason, it is often used on professional training wheels. While maintaining performance and durability, the C17 model of Zonda wheels incorporates the same improvements as the Shamal Ultra wheelset. With the aim of creating a more efficient and performance-focused rim, the Zonda C17 wheels have been specifically tuned for use with 25 and 28 mm tyres, in line with the trend towards wider tyres. This new wheel/tire combination is more aerodynamic than tires of the same size with a C15 rim. The result of the improved rim profile is greater cornering grip and increased safety, while air and rolling resistance are reduced at the same time. A small change (in jaw width) with a big effect creates a surprisingly new driving experience. Furthermore, thanks to structural improvements, the wheels of the Zonda C17 offer better grip on clincher tires and also an optimized braking sensation.
