Open tubular tires are fitted like clinchers, but the manufacturing process is similar to that of a tubular tyre. Instead of sewing the ends together, they are wrapped around an aramid thread, thus creating a tire bead. The result is a tire that has nearly the same suppleness and ride quality as a tubular tire and also offers great traction, low rolling resistance and better shock absorption.
