The Fox Float SL is the new definitive XC shock from Fox. It is the lightest shock in the range and still offers strong and efficient performance. Particular emphasis was placed on improved traction and more consistent damping. This was achieved with a new main piston, valve and IFP (internal floating piston) cartridge. Of course, the proven EVOL air spring is also used on the Float SL. The shock can be set to two suspension modes (Open and Firm) from the handlebars using the remote control (not included). Additionally, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces breakaway torque.

- The inner tube called EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL is short for "Extra Volume". This adjustment should also have a positive effect on the quality of the suspension by reducing the breakaway torque of the shock absorber. This leads to better traction and a softer response. The Fox Float SL shock should make the rear significantly more efficient.
- By introducing metric installation dimensions, shock manufacturers want to achieve a standardization of standards. In the future there should no longer be so many different variants. Furthermore, the aim is to obtain a linear gradation of the different length and travel dimensions similar to that already achieved with suspension forks. Incidentally, these shock absorbers offer more space inside, since generally the hole spacing has been slightly increased for the same stroke. This optimizes functionality and reliability.
- Kashima coating for a smooth driving feel is available exclusively from FOX. It offers exceptional overall performance, guarantees minimal friction and optimal responsiveness with maximum durability.
