The Hope Direct Mount chainring has special teeth with narrow and wide shape in the change, which prevent jumping off the chains reliably. In conjunction with a SRAM Type2 or Shimano Shadow + rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased bias of the cage, the chain is reliably held in position even without chain guide. These chainrings fit only the patented HOPE Spiederless Retainer System, therefore only compatible with HOPE crank.
