The newly developed, internally ventilated V4 floating brake rotor was developed specifically for the Hope Tech 4 V4 and Tech 3 V4 brake systems. The brake rotor consists of two friction surfaces connected by fins and allows air to flow between the friction surfaces. This design allows for significantly better cooling. On the test bench, Hope was able to measure that the internally ventilated V4 rotor heats up 15 percent less than the simple floating rotor. The design also ensures significantly better wet braking performance because water can be moved more quickly through the inside of the friction rings. The two-piece version is available with spiders in all Hope anodized colors to match your bike. The lightweight aluminum spider also increases rotor rigidity and improves heat dissipation. The stainless steel braking surface is riveted to the aluminum spider and allows for expansion and contraction without deforming the brake rotor.
