The trend towards wider tires continues and the associated lower tire pressures pose new challenges for the rims so that tire stability is further guaranteed when cornering. Protection of the tire sidewall is also an issue, with narrow rims with wide tires.Hope is meeting this trend with the new Fortus rims and offers an extremely robust rim series with an internal width of 23 to 35 millimeters. The welded rims are made of 6061 aluminum. For use on downhill bikes, the Fortus 30 has more material strength and two additional hollow chambers. The spoke holes are eyeleted for easy wheel construction and better durability. When optimizing the rim profile, the tubeless ability was of course also preserved. The simple installation of tubeless tires is as easy as with all other HOPE rims.
