Schwalbe becomes the first company in the bike industry to use a new carcass structure, something that the automotive world had already experimented with and used, but this technology makes its debut with the new Schwalbe tyres. It abandons the carcass structure with the positioning of the filaments at 45°. The carcass construction has a more obtuse angled thread arrangement. So on the outside the compounds and technologies used by Schwalbe remain the same but inside, what is not visible changes completely. This technology called Radial by Schwalbe and developed throughout the downhill World Cup season, leads to new driving sensations and tire behavior. The arrangement of the filaments ensures that the carcass material overlaps with less tension and in a shorter manner, in this way the rubber deforms more precisely to react more flexibly and adaptably to the terrain and its obstacles. The contact area between the tread and the ground increases by 30% compared to traditional tires and even with pressure increases of 50%, the contact area remains 15% higher with the same flexibility. This means that the internal pressure can be customized more reliably in terms of performance without negatively impacting behavior. Shredda Gravity is a novelty from Schwalbe that adopts the Radial construction and is available in a front or rear version with differentiated tread developments, its ideal terrain is that faced with ebikes on softer and muddy terrain. At the front, the tread has a thickness that Schwalbe has never before produced with 10 mm height for the shoulders and 8 in the centre. The central knobs look like pyramids to resist abrasion and stabilize control, while the angled shoulder knobs deform and close during riding.
