As with the entire DURA-ACE wheel family, with the new C60 we started from scratch. Unlike the C36 and C50, the C60 has a specific front hub design that uses Shimano's OPTBAL 2:1 spoke spacing to improve lateral stiffness. Furthermore, the C60 has stiffer spokes, 1.8 mm instead of 1.5 mm. Tested by our professional athletes, the C60's high lateral stiffness allows you to push harder when cornering and maneuvering at higher speeds. Finally, the new deep-section rims, tested in the wind tunnel, feature a faster and more stable cross-section that will appeal to timers, triathletes and sprinters.
