Latex is more pliable than butyl, so the latex inner tubes deform faster when cornering and braking, ensuring better grip on the road. Latex expands up to 8 times its original size, while butyl only 1.5 times. This remarkable flexibility decreases rolling resistance and increases comfort compared to standard butyl tubes. Latex is also lighter. The elasticity of the latex makes these tubes even more difficult to puncture. Many cyclists use liquid latex inside their inner tubes for extra safety: liquid latex and latex inner tubes work well together.
